The were moving cautiously -,every corner a potential firefight. Tom glanced at his team mates. Each seemed intent and alert. Dr. Anderson seemed pre-occupied. She was obviously troubled. He made a mental note to talk to her later. She was a good doctor and he was glad she was with them. Tom remembered how the Doc had suffered in her short time in the torture device. The Tesla crew could be in god knows what shape. Jackson was closely watching his tri-corder's readings. The fact that there were so few troops guarding the facility troubled Tom. His senses were screaming RED ALERT. He gripped his laser rifle tightly. He turned a corner and darned near ran into an enemy trooper. Tom butt stroked the the trooper as the two fell in a tumble. The others started to react as the hall erupted into a mass of confusion and phaser fire. (Reply: Any Present) (Posted by Bill) ----- (Alien Station - Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen ACMO - Day 2 - 0006) Andersen had a tri-corder in her right hand and a phaser in her left one, clumsily checking the details the tri-corder recorded while it was carried by the crew while she was being interrogated. Interestingly, there was a lot of data and the particular filters she engaged seemed to have worked and captured what she was hoping for. Right now she was going over the details of the chair she and the crew encountered earlier on. She was trying to forget the pain and details she felt while she was tied and interrogated, and she knew that working her mind off usually helped her not thinking about the things she didn't wanted to. That was, sadly, the main reason she was so much into medicine, it was complex enough to use all of her brain power, leaving very little to think of the actual world. She moved her head up, still glancing on the tri-corder, double checking where the team was going so she wouldn't be left behind. She could see Jackson looking at his tri-corder as well. Seeing as there's no imminent danger, she put her attention back at reading only to be alerted by the sound of the falling to the floor, quickly looking up seeing Jackson on the floor and the others moving up their phasers. It really felt like a slow motion. A single thought ripped through Ailyn's mind... she wanted not to kill anyone, her phaser setting was at a stun. She did not even buckled the tri-corder back at the belt, when she crouched, tumbled to the right side of the corridor, only to be reminded of the pain in her leg. Regardless, the flurry of shots went past her and this was enough to fool the duo that seemed awfully trigger-happy at Andersen specifically. Firing a quick shot to the first one, while the other was hit by someone else of the team. But, there were still few of the attackers coming at them, relentlessly attacking, seemingly without any formation, thought, coordination or singular pattern. Their faces, like rabid beasts, full of hatred. Luckily, they did not wear any serious armor, so they would soon fall down after a single shot. The corridor lit up like a bright candle of all the weapon's fire but Andersen still had her luck and did not get shot. For a moment, Ailyn felt dizziness and was confused. She could hear a faint sobbing, but she didn't know who was making it. She quickly hoped it's not the one of the away team. The silence was short, yet another wave of enemies attacked, but this time, there seemed to be more coordination... and an person down on the other side of the corridor... dressed a little different, obviously directing the attackers and giving them orders. They quickly pulled down some kind of defensive armors from the ground of the station, and took cover. The away team found themselves into unfavorable position, the supression fire was gaining in strength and, while they seemed to be innacurate at the moment, the luck eventually dries out. (Reply: Sanok) Finally the order came to lay down supression fire in quick succession and retreat around the corner. It would seem Jackson was having a field day and was laying down serious punishment while allowing Andersen to retreat. She rolled half a way and crouch-walked the other to the seemingly safe wall on the corner. The others followed similarly. (Reply: Any) Eventually all would be on the same side of the corner. She quickly glanced over the faces and found Sanok in his thoughts. Leaning over just her left hand, she fired her phaser several times to keep the attackers occupied. Some plan had to be made, Ailyn thought, and it would better be done quickly. She felt only this opposing force was between them... and their goal. Then he contiuned "Uhura may have served on that misson" Jessica closed her eyes, she needed no more confirmation C'Nell was in deed a Section 31 agent. But for what reason or why was he attempting to make contact with her. Inside she raged she wanted nothing more than to stop the beating of his heart. She chose her words carefully "Nestled deeply with the Garden of Eden there grows a vast expanse of Belladonna." She turned to look toward C'Nell. "And you can never leave." She had chosen her words carefully if C'Nell would know what the cipher it would tell Jessica and Lily how deeply he was with the Section 31 organization. She basically told C'Nell 'I was stationed on the Raven's Nest, part of the project called the garden of eden, I am Lily.' She turned back to the mission at hand has they made there way though the station. From what her tactical circlet could scan ahead they were coming to a larger area ahead she hoped it would lead her to a central pathway that followed though the center of the station. Jessica hoped that once they found that central pathway, they would find their lost comrades. (reply C'Nell, any) (posted by Matthew Locke) ----- (USS Rosenante, Bridge, CO, Captain Ben Soma, Day 1, 0009) Ben had watched as the torpedo streak out towards the alien station, moments later it found it's target and detonated. He hoped no bystanders had been caught in the resulting explosion, though he had been a Sec/Tac officer in the past he despised unnecessary deaths or suffering. His training in Bushido had ingrained certain ideals in him over the years, never fight if you could avoid it, show mercy when possible and don't do just because you can. There had been times in the past where he had wavered slightly and felt bad because of it, had he been a Samurai from feudal Japan he would have felt dishonor. "Minor damage to torpedo launcher." The SO reported. "Repair drones have been dispatched for repairs." That was one weapons platform he didn't have to worry about for a while. "We're being hailed, audio only." ~Now I've gotten your attention~ "Let's hear what they have to say." He replied. =/\=Commander of the vessel called Rose-on-ona-tay, you will cease your aggression against this station, or your clan mates from the first ship will be executed. You will immediately remove your search teams from this base, or your clan mates from the first ship will be executed. In fifteen of your time units called minutes, you will be permitted to access one of the base communication arrays to recall your teams. Your communications will be monitored. At the first indication of deception, your access will be cut and your clan mates from the first ship will be executed.=/\= "Channel has been severed at origin sir." The SO stated. "At least they said something." Ben replied. By now he figured the teams had at least located the Tesla crew, hopefully Sanok and Kevras too. In fifteen minutes the rescue should almost be completed. The fact that the stations commander was allowing him to recall his parties told him that they weren't having much luck subduing his officers and were becoming a nuisance. Ben couldn't help but smile at that despite the threat to kill the Tesla officers. Either the station was only manned by a skeleton crew or the aliens were no match for trained battle hardened starfleet officers. (posted by Milo) ----- (Alien Station, FO/CSec Lt. Cmdr. Sanok, Day 2, 0010) Gomez had done an efficient job of guiding the six-member team to where the Tesla crew was being held. They had found a door leading to the detention area, but before they could cross the corridor to enter, the team began to take enemy fire. Sanok had been in combat many times, far too many. He had taken lives when there was no other choice. He had seen shipmates lose their lives. In fact, it was the stress of combat during the civil war that had changed Sanok's life. He had originally lived with his emotions, but after a long conflict, and after seeing so many die, his feelings had become so overwhelmed, that while under the care of a Vulcan counselor, he had taken a medical leave of six months. He returned to his home world and began studying Kohlinar. He was now more like the typical Vulcan, but his emotions still showed at times. That was why he understood why the wounded Hikani in the corridor ahead, was sobbing. Sanok wanted Dr. Andersen to treat the man; his face and neck were bruised and bleeding, but he was lying in open ground, so aiding him was not possible. Putting it out of his mind, he addressed the situation at hand. "What weapons and equipment did you bring with you," said Sanok, addressing Jackson and the security team. "We need to get past this threat and into the detention area. Do you have something that will allow us to do that?" (reply Jackson, Gomez, Andersen iyw) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (Alien Station, Ensign Heath Gomez, Day 2, 0012) With the fire fight in full force once again Heath concentrated on taking out the enemy soldiers, if they could be called soldiers. They began dropping like flies, Heath continued to fire as he dodged incoming fire. This time seemed a little different though, the enemy seemed more determined and were holding their ground despite their losses. He had no doubt his team would claim victory but this was beginning to seem pointless, the Hikani must have realized by now that they were no match for the trained starfleet officers so why keep sending fresh meat to the grinder. Sanok must have been thinking something similar. "What weapons and equipment did you bring with you," said Sanok. "We need to get past this threat and into the detention area. Do you have something that will allow us to do that?" Heath made his way back to Sanok's position and slipped his pack off his back. "I have proximity mines, photon grenades, spatial charges and a few spare energy cells." He said. "I may be able to create a couple stun grenades using a tricorder and adjusting the output of the photon grenades or the mines." Heath would have to rely on his expertise in munitions to accomplish the task, he would prefer attempting that rather than outright killing all the Hikani in the corridor and possibly injuring some of the Tesla's crew. "I'll take me a couple minutes to make the adjustments but I believe it is possible." He added. Turning to address no one in particular he asked. "Did any of you bring any stun grenades?" (reply any present) (posted by Milo Young) ----- (Alien Station -ATAC Ensign (sg) Jessica Signos - Day 2 - 0013) "Indeed it seems we have much to discuss."She spoke to C'Nell, as they continued to move. They moved quickly clearing rooms, hallways, and decks. The plan was to move closer to an central area of the station till either they found their comrades or the aliens responsible for attacking them and taking their crew mates. The entered a new area of the station when the sensors on Jessica's tactical circlet lit up. She raised her hand to halt the small assault team. (reply any in team) She waited then again her sensors flash again. "Phaser fire," She pointed in the direction of the discharged energy. The fire team moved with all due haste in the direction of the fire fight. A few minutes later they were out side the room the sound of phaser fire now evident from the other side of the door. Her hand graced the door panel and the entrance to the room hissed open. Angry beams of light filled the room the and Jessica used the doorway for cover has she quickly surveyed the fire fight, she could see a few federation officers taking cover refusing to lose control of this area, she saw the unknown aliens on the cat walks above raining hell down upon the federation officers. It was then Jessica readied her phaser rifle and added her own fire to those of her comrades. Two of the aliens went down quickly before they could register the new threat. She dove behind the safety of the door, as fire from the enemy rained down upon her position. In a few seconds the fire eased. Jessica timed the fire then made her move she broke the corner of the door and entered the room, she held suppressive fire till she could take cover behind console. No longer than she made the safety of the console when it took a blast from an enemy weapon. Sparks flew and rained down on Jessica. The situation was fairly simple - a rush to free the Tesla crew. Speed and timing were essential. I may be able to create a couple stun grenades, using a tricorder and adjusting the output of the photon grenades or the mines." The man had brought an arsenal. It was agreeable to Sanok that he was so well prepared. "It'll take me a couple minutes to make the adjustments, but I believe it is possible," said Gomez. "Did any of you bring any stun grenades?" "I have two, sir," said James. "I have some flash-bang grenades, and some plastic type explosives," said Jackson. "I have a smoke grenade," said Allen. "What do you have in mind, Commander?" said Jackson. Sanok was formulating a plan in his mind. "I suggest something along the following lines," said Jackson. "Part of us rush any concentration of enemy forces, and the rest free the Tesla folks. We use any arms gotten from the rush to arm the Tesla crew. Then I would suggest we get the H out of here" The plan could work, but there would surely be casualties on their side. Their numbers were so few, they had to have a plan with a greater chance of success, but with a much less chance of any of them taking a hit. "Mister Gomez, begin working on your stun grenades. Once they are ready, you and Mister James will use them on the Hikani. Mister Allen, after that, you will use your smoke grenade. "Mister Jackson, you will lead Gomez, Allen, and James across the corridor under the concealment of the smoke. Enter the detention area, using your flash-bangs on the guards. Free the Tesla crew as quickly as possible. Doctor Andersen and I will cover you from here." Sanok looked at Andersen and nodded. Firefights were not the norm for Starfleet doctors, but he had already witnessed her holding her own, so he knew he could count on her. "Mister Gomez, when you're ready...." (reply any) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (Alien Station-ASO Thomas C'Nell-Day 2-0016) In response to Jessica's words, C'Nell nodded; nothing more needed to be said they were doing a job. He descended into a deep focused silence, now his mind registered every minute detail. His Eidetic memory recording even a speck of dust floating through the air. "Phaser fire" Jessica said and C'Nell nodded in response C'Nell witnessed Federation officers; his mind flicked back to the crew records that he had memorised. He knew every detail about them. He followed Jessica's lead and watched as the sparks rained down upon her, cover blown NRPG: I dont know much about this area, what do I see? and how many targets? C'Nell witnessed the aggressor about to fire a second time, this blast would be lethal. Without thinking he responed at lightning speed, mowing down the aggressor. He fired madly, and looked for cover, he noticed that the console no longer held good cover; it was time to make use of his own device. He hadn't thought about it earlier nor told his crewmates, it was his own homemade field emitter. He had bulit in the academy, completely from scratch. He threw the device, he had judged it perfectly the small square sheild appeared near Jessica's position. Unfortuneatly he couldnt make it big enough for the rest of the team but figured she was in the most trouble. NRPG: the reason for the not thinking about it is because I just thought of it He ran towards the sheild, he believed that this field could take 3-5 shots at most before it completely collapsed and it had been hit while he was running. He turned towards his fellow officers "Thomas C'nell, Jessica Signos and Raschen reporting, I assume multiple targets phasers free?" (Reply any in area) Without awaiting confirmation he fired towards an exposed pipework behind a couple of them; he fired-his guess was correct and the plasma fire burst out. They screamed. (Reply any in area) (Posted by Nathan) ----- (Alien Station, Ensign Heath Gomez, Day 2, 0017) After everyone had lain out their inventory Jackson stated a plan of action, Heath felt it had it's good points as well as it's bad points but it wasn't his call to make. Sanok then decided on another plan that would cut down casualties on both sides. He got the ok to work on his grenades so he set about it immediately. When he finished they would move with Jackson in the lead, using stun grenades and flash bangs they would storm the room and free the Tesla crew as quickly as possible. Using the tricorder he made the necessary adjustments as quickly and as safely as possible, wouldn't look to good if his grenades blew up in his face. He had done similar adjustments before, increasing or decreasing yields and adjusting detonation times but this was his first time actually changing the intended function of a grenade. Such a task held risks but he knew he could do it with limited risk to himself and his team. Minutes later he had half a dozen stun grenades ready, he modified the photon grenades rather than the spatial charges since the yields were much lower, with the two that James had they should have enough to stun just about everyone in the corridor and most of the people in the room. The flash bangs should be able to handle the rest. "Ready." Heath stated and turned to Jackson. "On your command Lieutenant." He passed a couple grenades to Jackson and James. "Make them count." He added with the hint of a smile. It wasn't that he enjoyed combat but anytime he could engage a hostile without killing it was a good thing. "Aye aye Commander" Jackson responded. Soon the smoke bombs were sending out clouds of smoke. The flash bangs were lobbed into the assault area just ahead of the smoke grenades. As they went off, Tom was up and running. Heath, secure these beings" Tom ordered pointing to the guards laying about. (Reply: Heath) Tom then had James secure their rear and flanks by telling him, "Make sure we have no surprises, Mr. James." (Reply: James IYW) Tom turned to the problem of freeing the Tesla crew. "Allen, come here and assist me" Jackson ordered. (Reply: Allen) Time was running out quickly. Reinforcements must surely be on their way to stop them. (Reply: Heath) (Posted by: Bill W.) ----- (Alien Station - ACMO Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen Day 2 - 0019) Ailyn noted in herself how much some of the weapons did some of the officers brought with themselves. There seemed to be all kinds of grenades, flash-bang, smoke, even some plastic explosives. Andersen felt a bit lost in the talks, she didn't know alot about explosives, besides, she didn't know a lot about any kind of weapons. "Part of us rush any concentration of enemy forces, and the rest free the Tesla folks. We use any arms gotten from the rush to arm the Tesla crew. Then I would suggest we get the H out of here" said Jackson. All the talks of grenades made Ailyn a lil' bit nauseous, she clearly imagined what did the enemy forces looked like at the moment. She remembered there were quite a few already on the floor, in pain. Despite how she was supposed to feel with these aliens in minds, she couldn't still ignore them while they were in pain. The grenades certanly won't be a help to those. But she also understood they are pinned down at the moment, and they do really need to make that break-through. ~I hope they pick their own fallen soldiers...~ she sighed. "Mister Jackson" Sanok started and snapped Ailyn from her thoughts "you will lead Gomez, Allen and James across the corridor under the concealment of the smoke. Enter the detention area, using your flash-bangs on the guards. Free the Tesla crew as quickly as possible. Doctor Andersen and I will cover you from here." he explained. Turning his head towards Andersen, he nodded. She made a face and then she smiled, but it was a weak smile. She was sure anyone else at this point would be better for this duty then her. Looking down towards her phaser in her left hand, she noticed the size... suddenly it felt like a toy. A good weapon as a defensive force, it wasn't exactly the best tool in a firefight. But, it had to be enough. "Andy" was how she was teased during the Academy. Partly because her manner that was better suited to a man, she certanly had issues showing her feelings - and partly because of her short hair at the time. Everybody would call her Andy - and she remembered she wasn't such a bad shoot, but clearly back then she had all the time in the world to make the right hit that counts. And then, she also had a phaser rifle, not a handgun. ~This' just like the Academy,~ she thought ~only around here you got moving targets... with the same IQ.~ she said to herself and tried not laughing out loud. The crew passed the grenades from one to the other and started working on preparing them. Gomez was ready, clearly stating so, passing the grenades further. "Make them count." Gomez mysteriously smiled looking at the two gentlemen that took the grenades from his hands. Andersen frowned at herself, everybody was looking better then she did in these situations. Even if something wrong would happen, she thought, it wouldn't matter as much at this point, because it was her own choice. She pulled her Starfleet jacket down, as if she's washing away the misery from it with her movement, clearing some of the dust. Even if she would be shot today, there would be no excuse for being dirty. Taking the advantage of the corner, she situated herself lower, on her knees. She knew that she had a small frame, and that she could most easily turn quickly and do sweeps of shots. Besides, she could just roll while firing to get to one of the rifles that the station inhabitants used against them. Of course, she knew nothing of using one but... ~how hard could it be?" she almost asked herself loudly. She hoped it's not locked to a certain DNA strain and unusable by other species... ~No" she thought, "there's no way these people would make such weapons~, judging by their ability and, at least seemingly low tech proficiency, she was sure their weapons were as primitive as it can be. While it was a good question if these has a stun setting, she noted to herself to try to find some kind of control and back it down to a minimum - even if there wasn't an stun setting, she witnessed the power of the weapon herself. A shot in the leg or the arm would not kill anyone. She wasn't quite sure she was ready for this... but there were no going back now. The worst thing at this moment that was really happening to her, anyway, was the fact she was feeling the stims are wearing off and heaps and heaps of muscle spasms, dull pain in her bones from the shots and the constant boring ringing in her ears. Her hands visibly shaking, she could not concentrate properly, but considering she has been repeatedly shot, mauled by a blunt handle of the weapon, and handled like an hunting targ, this made sense all too well. Whatever would happen next, it should happen pretty fast, she agreed with herself. (Reply: Any) (Posted by: Lani) ----- (Alien Station, Ambassador Joanne Turner, Day 2, 0020) The phaser firefight had been an incredible blur of movement and sound. Jo had never been in one, but she had been in high-stress and dangerous situations. What she experienced from this, was that it was true about an adrenaline rush. Her senses had become heightened and things around her seemed almost to be in slow motion. Though her life had been in danger, it was a thrilling experience. Then it came to an end. A flaming explosion from the catwalk above, had ceased the enemy fire. After the noise of battle, the sudden silence was almost like a shock to the system. Blinking, Jo focused through the smoke. On the catwalk above them, were three Starfleet officers. Getting back on her feet, Jo came from around the metal support pole she had been behind. Jackson led the small assault team across the corridor and to the door leading to the detention area. To cover them, Sanok fired into the smoke towards the Hikani position. Allen opened the door and Jackson tossed some flash-bangs inside. Sanok could hear more shouts of confusion. The four then charged inside. Phaser bursts could be heard, but after about thirty seconds, it was quiet. The corridor became eerily quiet. Sanok tapped his comm badge and spoke in a hushed tone. "Mister Jackson, report." "Go!" said Sanok, signaling Jackson to lead his team through the corridor. Andersen leaned and fired several shots. She couldn't really see where she was firing from all the smoke, but she was sure that if any was still combat ready, they wouldn't attack while under the supression fire. In about the same time, Sanok discharged his weapon several times as well, seemingly random just as Andersen, more then likely trying his best to pin the enemy force down. Jackson's team finally got to the doors and opened them, grenade noise filled the corridor and several more shots that ended in silence. Andersen stood up, checking some of the aliens on the floor, one was visibly wounded. It seemed he was mis-shot by one of his own. The wound didn't appear to be very deep, just a surface. She took his arm, and placed in it a piece of his own cloth from his garment that she tore, putting his arm on the wound and pressing down. She quietly moved his rifle away from him but he didn't seem to mind, visibly shaking from the pain. His life was not in danger, anyway. Through all this time, she couldn't hear anything happening on the other side of the doors at the end of the corridor. Sanok whispered "Mister Jackson, report." but several seconds passed without an answer. "I hope we won't be needing your medical skills." he said looking at Ailyn. There were some wounded enemy soldiers on the floor, this task was overwhelming for a single doctor alone. She hoped that no one of the advancing team was injured. No doctor would like being in an situation to choose which patient is more critical and needs attention sooner between all. Despite being their enemies, she would be a terrible doctor to choose not to help the enemy in need as well, she gave an oath she would uphold. The fact she knew virtually nothing about their physiology didn't really help in this situation. She took a deep breath, checking with her eyes everyone on the floor then fixiating them on the doors. (Reply: Sanok, Any) (Posted by: Lani) ----- (Alien Station, Sec/Tac PO David Allen, Day 2, 0028) Lieutenant Commander Sanok gave the order and the assault team sprang into action. Stun grenades were tossed down the corridor towards the Hikani position. After the enemy soldiers were suppressed by the initial stun, David launched his smoke grenade. With the concealment and with supporting fire from Sanok and Doctor Andersen, the team easily made it across the short distance and to the door leading to the detention area. Jackson opened it and threw his flash-bangs inside. Sounds of shock, confusion, and pain could be heard. They burst in and fired at any Hikani in sight. Within seconds, it was over. While the area was being secured, David couldn't help but wonder about the Hikani. They had control of this huge station and its advanced technology, but they seemed like they had little understanding of how to operate it. More importantly, they had a serious lack of military knowledge. He wondered how they had managed to accomplish opening a portal and taking the Tesla crew. Whatever the reasons, there was time to think about that later. For now, they had to release the eighty-something members of the Tesla crew, get off the station, go back through the portal, and safely return home. It wasn't over yet. "Allen, come here and assist me," said Jackson. "Yes, sir," said David. While Gomez and James watched the captive Hikani and covered the rear, David followed Jackson down a long and narrow corridor. There were cells on both sides. Each had a metal door with a small window. "Hello!" said David. "We're Starfleet, from the USS Rosenante, and we're here to rescue you. Is anyone here from the Tesla?" After several seconds, there was an eerie silence, followed by a voice from just ahead. "This is Captain Colby Wesson. Thank God you're here." David couldn't tell exactly which cell the voice came from, but he could hear in it that the man was stressed and fatigued. There was no telling what the Hikani had done to him, and to the rest of the crew. David began searching for some sort of control mechanism that might open the doors. Finding a panel on the wall near the first cell on the left, he opened it. There was a touch pad, with about a hundred small squares in four columns. In each square was a symbol he didn't recognize, though they were probably numbers. He began tapping them. As he did, he heard loud clicks and the cell doors began to slide open. What happened next was hard to describe. Tired, frightened, injured personnel began coming out of the cells. Despite what had been done to them, the group was filled with relief and joy over being rescued. There were a few more injured than the rest, but there was someone to help each of them. It made David feel good inside, like a warmness tingling all through him. It made him proud of what he had chosen to be. Quickly shaking off the wonderful feeling, the next step was to get out of there, and to do it with so many people with them. He waited for Jackson to issue orders. (reply Jackson, Gomez) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (Alien Station-Ensgin Thomas C'Nell, Day 2, 0029) C'Nell ddid not at first respond instead he choose to sweep the area, to anyone familer with Sectio 31 or advanced tactical procedures; this would have seemed very odd for a science officer. "Are you okay?" C'Nell asked to everyone in the room. He looked to the Ambassdor, reconising her from the crew manifestos. He simply nodded, right now someone of her combat experience was more of someone to deal with; an objective not an aide. He looked to the starfleet officers; scanning them looking for command pips, looking to put faces to names. His eidetic memory though was destorted, something was wrong, something had distracted him "Orders? and Situation report" he said out loud hoping for a response (Reply anyone with authority) Something was very, very wrong. Perhaps leaving the institute, going into active starfleet service was a mistake. He looked down at Jessica, why had he protected her? She was the thing that was disrupting his superior abilities. She had brought back those memories, worse yet he still didnt trust her. She was "volitile"-a risk factor. He stared at her; it was a cold stare, a distrustful one. (Reply Signos iyw) (Posted by Nathan) ----- (Alien Station - Brig - 2O/COPS - Lt Tom Jackson - Day 2 - 0030) The securing of the guard detail without a hitch. James was getting the cells open and freeing the Tesla crew. Tom was speaking to Sanok. "Guard detailed Commander. We override the celj door control. No casualties . Mr. James is currently freeing the Tesla crew and once done and all persons are free we will move all toward your location" Tom replied. (Reply: Sanok) James reported the Tesla crew freed. Tom ordered " grab any loose weapons and arm the healthiest of the Tesla crew" . (Reply: Any on scene ) It was taking way too much time to get things arranged to Tom's way of thinking. Finally James and Gomez gave the go-ahead sign . Tom tapped his comm badge and radioed "'heads up here we come. We need the Doc to check our friends over" he added as a precaution. (Alien Station - Brig - ACMO Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen - Day 2 - 0032) Andersen got in the brig to see the Tesla crew out of their cells. She immediately opened up her bag and started preparing in case someone would need immediate help. Luckily, besides heavy signs of malnutrition, depression, fear and other psychological impressions thanks to incarceration, and perhaps interrogation, none of the crew of the USS Tesla was in any immediate danger. Perhaps they were more wounded psychologically by being misbehaved towards then in any physiological way. With the help of Starfleet counseling, Ailyn was sure the damage could be rectified at least partially. Andersen didn't really feel well. With any passing second she felt as if the whole day passes. She was in pain, and she was clumsily lumbering about the room, she couldn't even properly walk anymore. Despite all this, she wanted to finish up her work here. A week off duty really seemed like such a nice thing at the moment. She scanned several more officers from the Tesla, but nothing was out of the ordinary except some were weak from relative starvation. (Reply: Jackson) "It's dreadful what happened to them, Sir, but I do not think anyone is in danger or needs urgent medical help. I will check them up once we get back to the ship one by one. I would also..." she stopped because she knew how a person felt when a person would send them to get help "... suggest that they get some counseling time on our way back to Federation space." she said, looking at her right - where most of the Tesla crew were. (Reply: Jackson) "I believe they are ready to get back and onto the ship." she confirmed Jackson's opinion. (Reply: Sanok or Jackson) Would seem they would continue their original plan and rescue USS Tesla crew, but this was all the more reason to make haste. Specially because the station's Commander might send more troops to the brig. Thus the order was issued. Andersen nodded her head, she wasn't exactly ready but they needed to see this situation done. The crew of the USS Tesla was a bit better because they were free out of their holding cells, and it seemed they were eager to help just as much. (Reply: Any) (Posted by: Lani) ----- (Alien Station, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 0033) Apparently, Tho'var effort had been mostly in vain as reinforcement finally arrived. That was a welcome sight. "Are you okay?" asked one of the lesser ranked officer. At first glance, Tho'var had expected him to be a security officer, judging by his leadership and composure under the situation. However, that wasn't the case. His uniform had the color of science. That was strange, but there were more pressing needs. "Sir." Tho'var said to Lieutenant Commander Matrix, pointing at the console. He knew Matrix was the highest ranked officer and, in consequence, would have to give orders before going back to the task of determining how the console work. Once back at the console, Tho'var understood quickly how the situation progressed. Despite there was no short-range sensor connected to the console, it was clear from the console reading that the subspace distortion and all those plasma and helium particles were emanated by two ships at impulse. There were even trace of photon residues, suggesting there was a fight going on. ~That explain a lot~ he thought. So, that meant that not only the USS Rosenante was hard pressed to leave the area, but it was also very likely the station would be filled with enemy reinforcement. They had to find a solution and quickly. There was no way he could reach the fuel tank and deplete its fuel. There was no way to wait to gain more control over the console command. There was only one thing that they could do to make it work. Tho'var took a look at the alien stunned on the floor. He looked at him carefully, trying to determine if there wasn't any slight possibility they could be reasoned. There was also the burden of his species. Part of their faith were on Tho'var shoulder. Would he be betraying them in some way. Would he be failing to his responsibility. But he couldn't fail the Rosenante either. The more he analyzed the situation, the more he was convinced the longer they would take to solve it, the more there would be casualties on both side. Wasn't he a pacifist? Wasn't the pacifist suppose to do what was necessary to prevent people dying? Life was filled with difficult decisions, hearth-breaking one. In such situation, his mother was used to share : "There is no good or bad choice. Everyone has its own path and make its own choices. That is the Aenar way. All I can tell you is do what YOU think is right. " Tho'var knew what he thought was right. He didn't think his people would agree...and perhaps not even his superiors...but that was his choice. But Now, he had to hope his skill at peace was up to the task. "Sir, I found the way. I found the way to get us back and close the wormhole." (Reply Matrix, or any) "It isn't as complicated as we thought, but it would take too much time to explain. I just know what to do. (Reply Matrix) An Aenar was an interesting species; of course his memory had returned to its normal ability and he could place it. Still he had never actually met one, now was not the time for a complex social study though. He could tell he was contemplating something....difficult. It struck him that he knew wat he wanted to do. His plan would be difficult; but wasnt it needed. C'Nell looked to the stunned alien. He didnt wait for the busy commander to grant his position and as he was giving his answer he said to Tho'var "Aenar I am with you, your plan is dangerous but what must be done must be done; I will support and help you; I know the judgement this may pass on myself-on my morals. I have considered it" He walked over to the Aenar and stood by him; apparently a gesture but he whispered silently "Hostage?" a questioning tone, judging that he was right; he had to hope he had stuck his neck out right. It was the only reason he could think of though that explained the facts; negotiation, the crews status, the look he gave (Reply Tho'var) (posted by Nathan) ----- (Alien Station, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 0039) "It isn't as complicated as we thought, but it would take too much time to explain. He was unable to follow his thought, and he was completely lost on what was meant. The officer was Vulcan, but his behavior was not typical of most Vulcans he knew. "Hostage?" the officer asked. "Dangerous?" Tho'var finally pronounced. ~Am I mistaken in assuming you don't like being put in the dark and making assumption is a good way to avoid it?~ he wanted to ask, but he considered he had better things to say. "Without my pin, it is difficult to know my rank. I am Lieutenant Tho'var." (Reply C'Nell) "Nice to meet you ensign." he replied. He had no time to pursue that conversation. Time was running short. "I would have been curious to know what you thought was my plan since I've tell no one, but we must hurry." Tho'var turned to his superior. "Sir, I would need only about thirty minutes to modify the portal setting to command it to shut down right after the Rosenante get through. However, it might be a close call, so once I start, I can't delay it. We won't have much time so I would recommend to beam everyone on the USS Rosenante now before I start." (Reply Matrix) Tho'var moved in direction of the console, when Jessica asked him a question. "what is this room what does it do, and why did they want it so badly." "It is the portal or vortex control room. This is where we operate it, or keep it stable. That is why it is of vital importance. Now if you would excuse me, I have a lot of work to do and little time to do it." he said to the ensign. (Reply Jessica, iyw) (Posted by Nick) ----- (Alien station-Ensign Heath Gomez-Day 2-0040) After the grenades had been tossed and they had run the gauntlet the Tesla crew had been successfully freed, for the most part they were uninjured, slightly confused and pleased to see more starfleet uniforms. After the confusion had cleared they wanted to help out in anyway possible. Along with James and Allen they policed whatever weapons they had left and acquired some of the alien firearms and armed as many as possible. With that taken care of they concentrated on the wounded, thankfully there were no serious injuries and it looked as if everyone could walk on their own. So far they hadn't taken fire from any reinforcements, normally he'd be glad of that fact but it wasn't right. If they had stormed the holding cells the enemy should have dispatched more troops to retake and recapture the crew of the Tesla. Why hadn't they seen any new forces or taken a single blast from enemy fire. "Commander." Heath said calling out to Sanok. "Somethings not right here, we should be overrun with reinforcements by now. If the roles were reversed and this was the Rosenante we'd have every able body storming in here down to put down any resistance. Either they have nothing left to throw at us or they are massing for one hell of a fight." (reply Sanok, any) Heath then started setting up sentries, an early warning system as such. If they were about to have company he wanted to be prepared. He set proximity mines setting the maximum range possible to reduce fatalities, there would still be injuries but with a little luck any affected by the blast would recover in time. Then an unexpected voice rang out over the stations PA. =/\=Rosenante to away teams.=/\= Soma stated. =/\=The stations Commander has demanded that you be recalled, if you do not comply he will kill the crew of the Tesla. I know you'll do what is right in this situation and preserve the lives of those officers. Move as swiftly as possible, I can't say how long his patience will hold.=/\= He didn't like the ultimatum, leave or the crew of the Tesla would be killed. Was it a hollow threat or was the stations commander really going to kill these people and declare war against the Federation. The station was heavily armed and from the scans he saw it would be hard to destroy but they could sabotage the systems from the inside and the Rose's compliment of torpedoes could do some serious damage from the outside. One way or another this would end here. "Whats the plan sir?" Heath inquired. They were resting while Doc Anderson was giving the Tesla crew a quick check over. As a good doctor should notice, the mind ripping device had caused fear, malnutrition and general degrading of several of the Tesla' crew. Some looked bad. Their condition made escape just that much harder for them. "Doc, are there any of them that cannot make a walk to the area where we left the EVA gear?" Tom asked . > > (Reply: Doc Anderson) As he was thinking of what to do next, the skipper's voice came out if the stations PA speakers. Tom didn't wait for the FO to reply - he'd take the chewing out later - he replied "Lt Jackson here. All personnel ok" Jackson gambled and accentuated the 'all' part heavily hoping the CO would read full hidden meaning. (Reply: Soma) This was one situation where he wished he were telepathic - he wanted to let Sanok know of the gamble he was about to take. Tom winked at Sanok and when ahead. "Skipper, our Eva gear is severely damaged - making an Eva exit out of the question. Could you ask the alien commander if he'd allow the use if the Rose's transporters ?" Tom said. (Reply: Soma and/or Sanok) (Posted by: Bill W.) ----- (Alien Station - Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen ACMO - Day 2 - 0043) Tom Jackson seemed a little bit worried for the Tesla crew. After all, who knows what these people have been through. "Doc, are there any of them that cannot make a walk to the area where we left the EVA gear?" Tom Jackson asked. "No sir, I do believe they are all ready however I would advise issuing stims to the physically weaker ones, just to be on the safe side. But I do believe they can make the run to the EVA gear." Andersen said. Tom was thinking for a bit, and Andersen hoped the Rose will read between the lines and that the plan will work. "Lt Jackson here." Tom replied to the skipper's voice coming from the station's PA system. "All personnel ok" he finished. Andersen looked left and then right, trying to figure out what Jackson and Sanok came up with. It seemed like a plan only those two understood. (Reply: Any) (Posted by: Lani) ----- (Alien Station, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 0044) Once he was done talking with Lieutrnant commander Matrix, Ensign C'Nell was very nice to show concerns for Tho'var. "But Lieutenant how will you get back?" he asked Tho'var smiled. ~He is clever. He sees it coming. But I will show him there is no reason to worry ~ Tho'var thought. "The same way you will ensign, the USS Rosenante will beam me up. Considering what Captain Soma has said, I doubt the specie will prevent me from being beamed back. They want us to leave." "Its a risk, perhaps me or Signos should do it? I am science so perhaps better suited, regulations state that superior officers should not be put at risk; I interpretate you as my senior and my mission as to recover and support you. Also if the Hikani capture you, they have a considerable bargininig chip; I am a new arrival it gives them little leverage" the ensign argued. It was brave to propose to do it. But after careful consideration, he did not see how could the ensign could do it. Despite he was a science officer, it would take too long to explain. ~Ensign Maddox perhaps?~ Tho'var wondered. But he wasn't sure Maddox could do it. A portal was very close to warp technique. Even if the scientific officer had a very good knowledge of what was at play, modifying the different commands of the portal deflector and components to have the desired result was very complex.Maddox was competent enough to do it....but in so short a time, he wasn't sure. And there was another reason why only him could do it. "I am more ranked, true, but I have a lower rank compared to lieutenant commander Matrix. The knowledge to do it requires advanced engineering skills. Not without mentioning, I would have to explain to you what to do. You aren't familiar with their computer system. I am. If what you say was right, it would be ensign Maddox who would be chosen for the task as he is the lowest ranked officer with the knowledge to operate the console. But truth is, I am the only one who really know what to do. This is why it is logical I do it. But don't worry ensign, everything will be alright." (Reply C'Nell) (Posted by Nick) ----- (Alien Station, FO/CSec Lt. Cmdr. Sanok, Day 2, 0045) Sanok had listened to everyone's report after the Hikani had allowed a message from Captain Soma to be delivered to them. He had firsthand experience of what the Hikani were willing to do, so he was certain they would kill the Tesla crew. At least they would have if they still had the crew held captive. Eight people had been sent to the station as a rescue team. Sanok and Kevras had escaped, and the Tesla crew had been found, so their group was now 90. Since the rescue teams had boarded the station through a hatchway, and having done that via EVA suits, getting everyone off the station was going to be difficult. It was unlikely the Hikani leader would allow them to use the station transporters, so they had to find another way off. If they could use the transporters, so much the better. Gomez was right that there should have been more Hikani forces coming after them. He had suspected there were only a small number of them on the station. He was certain of it now. In any case, it was time to think of a way off the station. "Mister Jackson, when your rescue teams were approaching this station, were you able to detect large, exterior doors that would indicate shuttle bays or space docks?" said Sanok.
